Thank you for visiting my website. Here you can learn about my activities both inside the Senate Chamber and out in the community, as well as more general information about the role of the Senate in the Canadian Parliament.
As a Senator from Toronto, I am particularly interested in urban or big city issues. These include urban poverty, housing/ homelessness, immigrant settlement, transportation, and the economic development/ international competitiveness of our city regions. I am also co-chair of the All-Party Anti-Poverty Caucus (APC).
Read more about these important topics in the "Issues" section or through the work done by the Committee of Social Affairs, Science and Technology where I am Deputy Chair.
Our most recent reports - Time for Transformative Change: A Review of the 2004 Health Accord and Canada’s Clinical Trial Infrastructure: A Prescription for Improved Access to New Medicines - are available in the "Documents" section and I hope you will share your thoughts on them with me.
In 2012, I was appointed as Vice-President of Liberal International (LI), an organization of liberal and progressive democratic political parties. For more information click here or to visit LI`s main site click on the icon below.
I look forward to hearing from you and encourage any feedback you might have.
Sincerely,
